Farrah Cortez-Smith long time Member of TVI Actors Studio was cast out of 150 girls as the love interest in the “Beyond Belief” music video. Bobby a.k.a “Beyond Belief” is an up and coming music artist and protege of hit producer KWAME who has produced hit records for the likes of Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Will Smith, Talib Kweli, & Lloyd Banks.
Farrah shared the stage with Kwame and “Beyond Belief” at the industry showcase held at Times Square Comedy earlier this month. Present at the event were industry pros from such labels as Interscope, Sony and Universal
I was fortunate to be present for her performance and in short, she was a hit! Be sure to keep your eyes out for this talent’s star is rising.
The three week Professional New York Summer Program at TVI Actors Studio has finished after an intense session of studies. Students and TVI staff and teachers attended a closing party at Havana Central Restaurant and Bar in Times Square. TVI New York enjoyed working with such a talented group of students.
I guess you had to see the movie “Lord of the Rings” to really appreciate the holes in the ground, and since i did not see any of the 3 Lord of the Rings Films, they were just holes in a hillside to me.

This past week in Auckland, Los Angeles Casting Director Nick Anderson who teaches a sitcom technique class at TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles dragged me out to Matamata, New Zealand, a 2 hour drive form Auckland to see the “Lord of the Rings” movie set.
Located on a private sheep farm in Matamata, NZ the “Shire” scenes were shot here. A rainstorm stopped the “tearing down of the set,” and the owner of the farm worked out a deal with Hollywood to keep it. 17 of the “Hobbit holes” are intact, and are viewed on the tour, as well as the “party tree” and lake, with photo boards. This is private property and a working sheep farm, so you cannot enter without taking the tour.
The weather was 37?F, wet and windy. What I won’t do for TVI’s acting schools teachers.
So what does Nick do! Leap off Auckland’s famous Sky Tower – 630 feet straight down!
SkyJump is one of New Zealand’s most thrilling tourist attractions and one of Auckland City’s ‘don’t miss!” experiences.
SkyJump can be described as Base Jumping while attached to a wire – just like a movie stuntman. Nick fell very fast! (approximately 50 mph) for around 11 seconds, and then come to a very smooth landing in the plaza below.
Bold & The Beautiful Casting Director, Christy Dooley arrived in Sydney, Australia with a few days to spare before she begins teaching an Intensive 5 Day Program to Australian Actors on the Hollywood Casting Process with TVI Actors Studio. Here, Christy is snuggling with one of the biggest stars in Australia, the Koala Bear. This week, Christy will meet 40 other Australian stars as she and fellow casting director Nick Anderson teach this exciting and informative course in Sydney.
While down under we spent the last few days in Auckland, New Zealand presenting an American Sitcom class with Nick Anderson at UNITEC, Actors from Auckland Actors, Karen Kay Management, Johnson + Laird, and the Robert Bruce Agency participated while an addition 50 or so UNITEC theatre students audited the class.
Weather Alert while in Auckland:
More than 50,000 homes have been left without power in Auckland on Saturday night, as the storm tipped to be one of the biggest to hit New Zealand in a decade causes havoc.
Auckland weather worsened throughout the day with the eye of the storm expected to pass directly over or very near the region.
TVI consultant Leigh Feldpausch will be spending the month of August in Muskegon, Michigan shooting a feature film! The tribal theme feature is titled Offspring and is being directed by Andrew Van den Houten. Leigh’s character, “Second Stolen” finds herself in a tug of war between good and evil. The concept sounds really crazy and interesting, I can’t wait to check it out.
