Acting Schools closed for Labor Day '08

TVI Actors Studio in New York and Los Angeles has postponed acting classes from August 29th through Monday, September 1st in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. All acting classes,, long and short acting courses will be returning on Tuesday, September 2nd.

The acting schools administration and admissions offices will open at 10:00am in both NY and Los Angeles. For additional details please visit the acting schools official site, www.tvistudios.com or call TVI in NY at 212.302.1900 or in Los Angeles at 818.784.6500.

TVI Los Angeles Member featured in Comedy Sportz

TVI Los Angeles Member Amanda McCann will be featured in the ComedySportz LA Improvised Teen Drama — The High.

Amanda is Dawn Porter the poor, outcast. For those of us that know Amanda — she’s definitely playing against type.

Check out The High Fridays at 10:30 pm at The National Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles now through October 24th.

TVI Member, Michael Barnum, just signed with All American Rascals Talent Agency. Headed by former casting director Judy Belshe, the agency is quickly becoming one of the new agencies to watch. Jackie Goldberg goes through the Stage Door in The Hills

TVI Actor, Jackie Goldberg, is currently on stage in “Forty Carats” at the Stage Door Theatre in Agoura Hills, CA. She plays the character of “Maude”, the crazy Grandmother. TVI Los Angeles Alum books Hannah Montana

TVI Los Angeles Alumni and former Front Desk Guru Brian Nolan has just booked a role on Hannah Montana. Look for Brian opposite the young diva herself. We’ll have to wait and see if his scene is with Hannah or Miley or maybe he’ll get the Best of Both Worlds.

New episodes of Hannah Montana air Saturdays at 7/6c on the Disney Channel.

Commercial Talent Agents Call in TVI Member

People always ask us whether the agents who participate in our showcases really call in actors. Well, in case you haven’t been keeping up with this blog, they do. This past week, Stewart Talent, a major NY Boutique agency, called in TVI Member Helen Tong after meeting her at a recent Commerical Agent Showcase. Helen is back in New York after a stint on the mainstage for Toronto’s Second City.
