My dream was always to hang out in a trash can with Oscar the Grouch. I don’t have the slightest idea why. Except I always felt empathy for this cute, little guy. Who wouldn’t be frustrated when trash was sitting on your head everyday? You just want to hug him. Nan Cryar, a member at TVI Actors Studio, had the opportunity to work on Sesame Street and hang out in Oscar’s trash can while playing with live puppets. I live vicariously through her.
We are SO thrilled for one of our TVI New York members, Michael Marcotte, who not only booked a featured tenor role in the upcoming musical, “Music In The Air” at New York City Center Encores, but also just booked his first Commercial! Michael met Clay Smith, Agent at the Penny Luedtke Agency, at one of our Commercial Agent Showcases this past October and began working with him shortly thereafter. Clay submitted Michael on his first commercial just last week, and Michael booked a NY Lotto commercial playing the role of the preppy, conservative character, “Born Lucky.” Michael begins shooting tomorrow! The commercial will play on cable and show in 5 different neighboring states…so keep your eye out for “Born Lucky.”
Speaking of commercial agent showcases, we have another one coming up in February of 2009, so if you are in search of commercial representation, call us today! 212.302.1900
When she isn’t taking class with Erica Palgon of Liz Lewis Casting or participating in a Commercial Agent Showcase, TVI NY Member Chantelle Traczyk is busy raising money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
