New Casting Director of Gossip Girl

Kim Miscia, of Bowling/Miscia Casting, one of NY’s busiest primetime television and film casting directors and the new casting directors of the hit TV series Gossip Girl is teaching a Primetime TV Intensive at TVI Actors Studio. (past casting credits include new FOX -TV series New Amsterdam, Laws of Motion, Staten Island & ABC Family Pilots)

TVI Actors Studio and Michael Jackson

Within blocks of TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles is Michael Jackson’s family compound. Massive traffic delays as media trucks, on-lookers and press gather outside the home in Encino, CA.

The noise of the press helicopters at times makes acting class work difficult.

New Musical Theatre show developing

NY drama trained and educated, Los Angeles working actor in TV, commercials and theatre, Corey Pepper just completed workshopping a new show. The project was directed by the notable director Allison Narver.

Many know Corey from his work in TV on shows such as “Sabrina the Teenaged Witch”, “The Amanda Show” and “General Hospital” to name a few. In theatre, “Assassins”, “What the Rabbi Saw”, and “Everything in the Garden” to name several.

Corey is represented theatrically by Steve Stevens at The Stevens Group, and Commercially by Neil Kreppel of Commercial Talent Agency, both talent agencies in Los Angeles.

Between acting work, auditions and callbacks, Corey is a TVI Actors Studio career coach and one of the more popular acting teachers at the acting school in Los Angeles.

He is also the proud and amazing father of two wonderful sons.

New York Casting Director David Vaccari

TVI Actors Studio will be presenting a working in London with New York City Casting Director David Vaccari from Telsey Casting Company in July.

In addition to casting films, TV and Theatre with Bernie Telsey, David is a film producer, continuing to work on his first feature, “Poundcake”, starring Kathleen Quinlan & Jay O.Sanders. t premiered at AFI in November in Los Angeles. “Poundcake” won an Honorable Mention as best feature film at the 40th annual Nashville film festival.

Los Angeles Acting School students

TVI Actors Studio Los Angeles students Laura Hughes and Fernando Dos Santos with TVI Acting School career coach and professional actor Corey Pepper.

Corey Pepper just returned from workshoping a new Disney musical, Villains Tonight for Disney Cruise Lines produced by Disney Entertainment. The workshop was by directed by Allison Narver of Seattle Rep.
The Disney production will be going on the ship in late 2009/2010.
Corey Pepper played played Panic (Hercules) and Iago (Aladdin)

TVI Actress Cast – Capital Fringe Festival

New York TVI Studio Member Karin De La Penha just landed a leading role in Sezze Sun, a play opening in the Capital Fringe Festival in Washington D.C. July 22-26. Karin is currently a part of TVI’s Commercial Agent Showcase and is a frequent participant TVI’s one day workshops with TV, Film and Theatre Casting Directors. The play, “Sezze Sun,” by Kate Mulley will transfer to New York, opening on August 1.

Tony Award Winning Actress Randy Graff

Randy Graff‘s sold out Musical Theatre Master Class was a huge success! Last night at TVI New York, Kevin Stites, Broadway musical director (“Les Miserables,” “The Color Purple”) accompanied the actors. The incredible Broadway pairing worked with the actors on their 16-bar audition pieces.

Among her impressive credits, Randy won a Tony Award for her role in “City Of Angels” and a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress for her work in “A Class Act”. Randy was also the original Fantine in Les Miserables on Broadway.

Randy brought her wonderful positive vibe with her to TVI New York, and due to amazing feedback from students we are looking forward to having Randy back to teach again very soon!

TVI NY Actress with F Murray Abraham star together

TVI Actors Studio in New York has a new staff member that is heading fast to a very successful Theatre, Film and TV career. Between auditions, Bianca laVerne Jones supports the thousands of New York actors that meet her at the front reception at TVI in NY. She modestly has surpassed many actors in her category and relatively new to New York City. A graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts, State University of New York at Purchase and Yale School of Drama, Ms. Jones is someone New York casting directors, film directors and agents are carefully watching!

Come by TVI in NY and say hi to the newest member of our team. But hurray, as she just booked and is about to appear in “Iken’s Perversion” , Directed by John Gould Rubin, starring Academy Award winner, F. Murray Abraham as Iken and Bianca LaVerne Jones
as Omana.

TVI Student Goes Global!

THREE-FIFTY, a short film starring and produced by TVI client Melinda
Augustina has been successfully screened at over 30 film festivals world
wide. THREE-FIFTY is about a guy trying to weasel out of his late fees at a local video store.

This award winning film is currently airing in France, Switzerland, Africa
and now Italy! Through May 1st, 2010 it can be seen on NBC/Universal
affiliates throughout Italy. Additionally, Three-Fifty is scheduled for an
Asian premiere in Sapporo, Japan on October 14th-18th, 2009.

We are very proud of Melinda and the success of this film. It truly is a
testament to independent filmmaking and perseverance. Well done Melinda!
