Honors, awards and congrats!

Imagine what it must be like to get an award for your work. Almost every actor I know has dreamed about their acceptance speech at the Academy Awards’. What about those hard working industry folks who really prefer to shy away from such accolades? I find it interesting that those who don’t ever think about an award are often the ones who deserve industry recognition. Such is the case with Casting Director, Pat McCorkle. On Tuesday September 22, “Broadway Salutes” part of The Broadway League and Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds will honor Pat at this special event. In recognition of her 30 years as a Broadway Casting Director, Tony Voter and contributions made to the Broadway community, she will be among a very select group of Actors, Directors and Designers. Wow. I would like her to receive another honor, that of outstanding teacher. She has been helping actors with their acting craft and auditions for 30 years too!
