Monday Night Classes at TVI New York

It’s Monday! It’s the start of a new week, a new opportunity to achieve your dreams, and most importantly a busy day at TVI New York.

We have a full slate of classes on the cards for Monday night at the New York Studio.

Our Hybrid Conservatory actors are in full swing in their 16 week course, today they have a superb class on Alexander Technique with Patrick Mellon, and later they will be joining some of New York’s newest and brightest talents in Joe Osheroff’s Acting Foundations class.

Also on Monday night, we welcome in Justin McCarthy for his class on Indie Film audition and booking technique. Justin is a writer, director, producer and actor, and nobody knows better than him how to make it in the independent film industry, having recently written and directed two feature films, starring Courtney Cox and Vincent Gallo.

Network With Huge Film Casting Office at TVI-Los Angeles

Feature film casting director Chadwick Struck will be at TVI Studios in Los Angeles on Thursday night for a one night auditioning workshop.

Chadwick has a long list of feature films to his name including, ‘Herbie: Fully Loaded’, ‘Just Friends’ and ‘The Heartbreak Kid’. He has also headed up the casting for top television shows and theatre productions, including ‘Star Trek’.

Chad was voted runner up in Backstage’s 2010 Reader’s choice Awards for favorite Film Casting Director in L.A.

Lauren Port of MelCap Casting Comes to TVI

Lauren Port is a Casting Assistant at MelCap Casting, working in film, television, voiceover, and theatre. She has assisted with Broadway productions of Death of a Salesman, Seminar, Stick Fly, and Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, just to name a few! She has worked with Second Stage on several productions including How I Learned to Drive, and The Blue Flower. Lauren has also assisted with many regional theatre companies such as ACT, Ars Nova, Arena Stage, and The Williamstown Theatre Festival. She is currently the associate on Steel Magnolias (Sony for Lifetime). Recent feature films include Love and Other Drugs and Blue Valentine. Independently, Lauren has cast FanBoy and Joan: 316 for The ExtraPulp Ensemble as well as readings of The Bird and the Two Ton Weight in connection with Syracuse University. Lauren holds a BFA in Drama from Syracuse University.

Lauren will be hosting a one night workshop at TVI Actors Studio in NYC on Tuesday, April 24th, at 7:30 pm. We are ecstatic to have her with us!

Camille Hickman, a casting associate of Lincoln Center Theater will be hosting a workshop at TVI New York on Wednesday, February 29th, at 6:30pm.

For actors interested in pursuing theater, this is one industry professional you want face-time with!!!

Recent Credits at Lincoln Center Theater include: Awake and Sing, Third, The Next Room or the Vibrator Play, Cymbeline, A Free Man of color, War Horse and Dying city. Other projects include Exit the King, God of Carnage, Frost/Nixon, and The Bridge Project – Richard III.
