Lauren Port of MelCap Casting Comes to TVI

Lauren Port is a Casting Assistant at MelCap Casting, working in film, television, voiceover, and theatre. She has assisted with Broadway productions of Death of a Salesman, Seminar, Stick Fly, and Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, just to name a few! She has worked with Second Stage on several productions including How I Learned to Drive, and The Blue Flower. Lauren has also assisted with many regional theatre companies such as ACT, Ars Nova, Arena Stage, and The Williamstown Theatre Festival. She is currently the associate on Steel Magnolias (Sony for Lifetime). Recent feature films include Love and Other Drugs and Blue Valentine. Independently, Lauren has cast FanBoy and Joan: 316 for The ExtraPulp Ensemble as well as readings of The Bird and the Two Ton Weight in connection with Syracuse University. Lauren holds a BFA in Drama from Syracuse University.

Lauren will be hosting a one night workshop at TVI Actors Studio in NYC on Tuesday, April 24th, at 7:30 pm. We are ecstatic to have her with us!

Camille Hickman, Casting Associate at Lincoln Center hosts workshop at TVI NY!

Camille Hickman, a casting associate of Lincoln Center Theater will be hosting a workshop at TVI New York on Wednesday, February 29th, at 6:30pm.

For actors interested in pursuing theater, this is one industry professional you want face-time with!!!

Recent Credits at Lincoln Center Theater include: Awake and Sing, Third, The Next Room or the Vibrator Play, Cymbeline, A Free Man of color, War Horse and Dying city. Other projects include Exit the King, God of Carnage, Frost/Nixon, and The Bridge Project – Richard III. 

Pat McCorkle's Session Begins!

World renown Casting Director Pat McCorkle is beginning her 4 week Master Class tonight May 12th at 7pm. In her class you will be learning how to master the technique of auditioning for TV/Film. Pat is currently working on an Off Broadway play and is casting for a Columbia feature film.

TVI NY Actress with F Murray Abraham star together

TVI Actors Studio in New York has a new staff member that is heading fast to a very successful Theatre, Film and TV career. Between auditions, Bianca laVerne Jones supports the thousands of New York actors that meet her at the front reception at TVI in NY. She modestly has surpassed many actors in her category and relatively new to New York City. A graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts, State University of New York at Purchase and Yale School of Drama, Ms. Jones is someone New York casting directors, film directors and agents are carefully watching!

Come by TVI in NY and say hi to the newest member of our team. But hurray, as she just booked and is about to appear in “Iken’s Perversion” , Directed by John Gould Rubin, starring Academy Award winner, F. Murray Abraham as Iken and Bianca LaVerne Jones
as Omana.

Australian and American actor Anthony Brandon Wong

Australian and American actor Anthony Brandon Wong and TVI’s founder Alan S Nusbaum take a moment prior to the start of Anthony’s popular scene study class at TVI Actors Studio in Los Angeles.

You may recognize Anthony Brandon Wong from “Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service”, “Samurai Girl”, Mask of the Ninja, Secrets of the Forbidden City, “The Unit”, “All Saints”, and The Matrix Revolutions just to name a very few.

In addition to his acting and teaching, Award-winning actor and singer Anthony Brandon Wong aka Anthony Brandon Young teams up with actress/singer Jennifer Norkin (Ugly Betty, Entourage, Strong Medicine, I’m in Hell) in “Taking Chances”, their dynamic new cabaret show at Hollywood’s M Bar on Friday 5th June at 8pm (doors open at 6.30pm). Acting School Teacher at the Atlantic Theater

TVI’s very own Heidi Armbruster co-starred in the reading of Wendy MacLeod’s newest work in development “Find and Sign” today at the Atlantic Theater Company. “Find and Sign” smartly unfolds the relationships of its four main players and the choices they make in pursuit of love and career. Set against the backdrop of the hip hop music industry and one label in particular, it draws unexpected parallels to Othello. The strength of of play lay in it’s clever dialogue and spot on insight into love today on the New York dating landscape. Actress and TVI instructor Heidi Armbruster played Mona. Heidi Armbuster teaches a call back and interview class for Film and TV at TVI Studios in NYC.

Top Broadway Casting Director Teaches Musical Theatre Class

TVI Student Books Off-Broadway Show

TVI Member books TWO shows back to back

250px-Bill Mootos L.jpg Congratulations and a hearty ‘break a leg’ to Bill Mootots, who has had quite the season. Bill will be starring in not one, but TWO shows in the Boston area. First off he will be playing Warwick in St- Joan at the Wheelock Family Theatre in Boston, and shortly thereafter will be rounding out the season by appearing in the Hanover Center for The Performing Arts’ production of A Christmas Carol. Looks like that Alaine Aldaffer class helped with something! Ask your consultants about her Theatrical auditioning intensive coming up December 11th.
